MLS prediction markets FAQ
What Major League Soccer outcomes can I compare on PredictStack?
Current MLS listings may include match results, playoff progression and season outcomes such as MLS Cup or the Supporters' Shield. Availability changes by venue and stage of the competition. Open the event to check which outcomes and venue prices are actually shown, and confirm the season rather than assuming every club or achievement has a listed contract.
Is winning MLS Cup the same as winning the Supporters' Shield?
No. MLS Cup is decided through the postseason, while the Supporters' Shield recognizes the best regular-season team. A club can win one without winning the other. Check which achievement and season the contract names; leading the regular-season standings does not by itself settle a question about becoming MLS Cup champion.
How does a draw affect an MLS regular-season match market?
MLS regular-season fixtures can end level, so the contract's outcome definition matters. A separate draw outcome can resolve differently from a binary question asking whether one club wins. Buying No on that club can include a draw as well as a defeat; it does not necessarily mean you hold the opposing club's win outcome.
Do all MLS playoff matches use extra time before penalties?
No. In the current format, tied Wild Card and Round One matches go directly to penalties, while later single-elimination rounds can use extra time first. A regulation-time contract still concerns its stated period. Verify the playoff round and the season's competition format, then check whether the market asks about a match period or the team that advances.
Are MLS Round One series decided by aggregate goals?
No. Under the current best-of-three format, the first club to win two matches advances; goals are not added across the series to determine progression. A single-game result and a series-winner contract therefore answer different questions. Check whether shootouts count toward the specific outcome and whether your listing covers one fixture or the complete series.
Does an MLS Wild Card berth mean a team has reached Round One?
Not yet. In the current format, a Wild Card participant must win that match to enter Round One, while higher-seeded clubs qualify directly. A contract about making the playoffs can therefore differ from one about reaching Round One. Check the named milestone and how the venue defines a playoff berth before comparing those prices.
Does finishing first in an MLS conference make a club conference champion?
Not necessarily for the outcome being traded. Finishing first in the conference's regular-season standings and winning its postseason Conference Final are different achievements. The Conference Final determines which club reaches MLS Cup. Read the contract's definition of conference winner or champion, including its required stage and confirmation source, rather than relying on the short title alone.
How do MLS markets treat clubs tied on regular-season points?
MLS uses standings tie-breakers, starting with total wins and then goal difference, to separate clubs level on points under the current rules. A market about final position should be read against its named standings source and observation time. Equal points alone do not establish a shared ranking, playoff seed or payout; verify the season's complete criteria.
What happens to an MLS market if a game is postponed or suspended?
The individual contract's rescheduling, resumption and cancellation provisions decide. A market may continue to cover the fixture or specify an alternative settlement after a deadline. Check the clubs, competition and playoff stage, especially where progression is also being traded. A disruption does not automatically establish a refund or the same payout across venues.
What makes two MLS contracts comparable across venues?
They need to cover the same competition, season, fixture or milestone and result period. A club's cup appearance is not automatically an MLS league fixture, and a regulation-time result is different from playoff advancement. Once the definitions match, compare executable prices, available order size and applicable fees rather than the headline odds alone.
